Nibble.
Eat, grow, don’t bite yourself. Arrow keys or WASD to steer, space to pause; on a phone, swipe the screen or use the pad. Every fifth bite a bug turns up, worth more the quicker you catch it.

Nibble is Snake, the game that came on Nokia phones from 1997 (and older still in the arcades). It isn’t ours; it’s here to show what a game built in plain JavaScript can do in a browser.
What it shows
- A canvas drawn one LCD pixel at a time, scaled to stay crisp on any screen
- A fixed game tick that speeds up as you eat, with turns queued so quick taps count
- Arrow keys, WASD, swipes and an on-screen pad for touch screens
- Beeps synthesised with the Web Audio API, no audio files
- Pauses itself when you switch tabs
- Your best score for each edge mode, kept on your device
